Whether it’s a question of appearance, sex, gender relations, power, creativity or even self-confidence, many of our choices in life are often motivated by a need to be acknowledged and appreciated for who we are. Of course, in fashion the need to be acknowledged often results in an excess of style or an over-complication of fashion. In this story by Frederic Monceau we are reminded that style is the person, the strength and quality of their being. As such, even the most simplistic styling choices (or even a sparsity of clothing as represented here) are enough to frame (rather than conceal) our true nature, style or personas.
